Spray nozzles are manufactured from a wide variety of materials that have been determined to meet the usual requirements of the applications most commonly associated with that type of nozzle. Standard materials include brass, steel, various stainless steels, hardened stainless steels, many plastics and various carbides. Spray nozzles can also be supplied in other materials upon special request. Materials of construction affect nozzle wear life and resistance to corrosion and abrasion.

The spray angles produced by nozzles vary from 0° for solid stream nozzles up to 180° for select hollow cone nozzles. For ease of product searching, our catalog groups spray angles into “narrow” (typically < 50°), “standard” (50°-100°) and “wide” (> 100°).

Liquid Flow Rate For Two Tips

Many hydraulic spray nozzles include a numeric capacity size in the part number. Capacity size is often related to the flow rate of the nozzle at the rated spray pressure for that nozzle. For example, the capacity size for a 1/4HH10 FullJet® nozzle is “10”, which reflects a 1.0 gpm flow rate at 10 psi.

Specific gravity is the ratio of the density of a fluid compared to the density of water. It must be considered to properly calculate flow rate.

 The type of liquid sprayed and its temperature affects the specific gravity of the liquid and in turn affects the flow rate. The default liquid is water, with a specific gravity of 1.

The nozzles are constructed of natural PVDF - a super-tough, chemical-resistant fluoropolymer. Because no colorants or fillings have been added to the PVDF spray nozzles, they are especially suitable for such ultra-pure processing environments as electronics. Capable of spraying a variety of chloride, acid, alkali, and ammonia-based etchants, the nozzles can withstand temperatures up to 300°F at 100 psi (149°C at 7 bar). Models of the FullJet® and VeeJet® spray nozzles are also available with a removable strainer. The strainer guards against wear of the nozzle caused by liquid-carried foreign matter. This makes the nozzle a particularly good choice for a variety of general industrial applications.

FullJet® Full Cone Nozzles - PVDF

Standard full cone nozzles generally produce spray angles of 40° to 95° and are commonly used for a broad range of applications including low pressure rinsing and washing, cooling solids and gases, evaporative cooling of liquids and humidifying.
